What is an Electronic Cigarette
Electronic cigarette is a device that is gaining much popularity and its market is successfully booming. But in its deepest sense, what is an electronic cigarette? What makes it work? Does it have any difference in appearance, taste or price compared to a real cigarette? Indeed, a lot more concerns are being raised about this device.
Otherwise known as e-cigarette or e-cig for short, electronic cigarette is an electronic device that functions in the same manner as tobacco products such as cigarettes. Not just the functionalities, above all, it gives the user the same feel that one gets in smoking a real cigarette, tastes almost the same and satisfies the smoker’s nicotine craving, BUT without its foul smell and adverse health effects. The device vaporizes a glycerine-based or propylene glycol solution into an aerosol mist through the use of heat. The Components
Cartridge
The mouthpiece of the e-cig - This small plastic-made container functions as a small tank containing the liquid. This has two holes on each end, one for the mouth and the other is connected to the atomizer. Obviously, the cartridge’s primary function is to permit the vapour to pass from the atomizer to the user’s mouth but without the liquid. The cartridge can be refilled or replaced with a new pre-filled cartridge.
Atomizer
The heating element of the e-cig - Its only purpose is to vaporize the liquid. The atomizer is placed in the centre of the e-cig cylinder. The component has a filament that tends to completely burn out because of sediment build up. Replacement is advised once this happens.
Power Supply
The power supply is a lithium-ion rechargeable battery. The housing of the power source of e-cig is said to be the largest part of the device, along with its other electronic circuitry. Chargers of e-cig battery are USB-type connection, AC Outlet and car.
