The Vapor HQ Secret Sauce, Explained

Electronic cigarettes deliver that distinct vape sensation through the vaporization of e-liquid. This vapor mimics the sensation of smoking. E-cig liquid formulas can be customized based on the user's preferences to give different flavors and vaping experiences.

The most basic e-liquid starts with a base and a flavor. For those replacing cigarettes, nicotine is the third ingredient. A complex vape still only contains two bases, nicotine, and a custom blend of several flavors.

The Atomizer Base of VaporHQ

A diluent base is 80-90% of the e-liquid formula. Most vape juices include some combination of two ingredients: propylene glycol and vegetable glycerin.

Propylene glycol is the most common base ingredient and has been used in pharmaceutical manufacturing since the 1950s. If you've ever used an inhaler or nebulizer, chances are that you've inhaled propylene glycol.

The Food and Drug Administration lists propylene glycol (PG) as a GRAS substance, which is short for Generally Recognized as Safe. Under Title 21 of the Code of Federal Regulations, it is considered an acceptable compound.

The higher level of PG in a vape juice base, the more "throat hit" it produces when vaporized. Propylene glycol also creates a more pronounced flavor.

Vegetable glycerin is the second most common ingredient in e-cig liquid bases.

Vegetable glycerin, also known as glycerol or glycerine, is a clear and odorless sugar alcohol distilled from soybeans, palm oil, or coconut oil. It is very mild and slightly sweet in taste. VG is very viscous and thick.

It's common to find VG in everything from cosmetics, to food, to medications such as anesthetics, cough medicines, and suppositories. In e-cigs, vegetable glycerin helps produce thicker clouds and slightly sweetens juice flavors.

Vapor HQ uses both USP Food Grade Kosher propylene glycol and vegetable glycerin in their vape juice. The concentration of these bases can vary depending on flavor, type of e-cig, and user preference.

Common ratios can include 100% PG or VG, 50/50 mixtures, and 80/20 mixes.

Savor the Flavors

Unlike cigarettes, vape juice comes in a wide variety of tastes. Tobacco fans often enjoy the "pure" taste of tobaccos such as Cuban, clove, Turkish, American, and Virginia style. The benefit of tobacco e-juice is a full-flavored experience without the pollution of chemicals and combustion.

Other flavor varieties include menthol, mint, fruit, dessert, spice, and candy. Since flavored tobacco is banned in the US, many vape fans enjoy the flavored smoking experience that can only be achieved with an e-cig.

At Vapor HQ, you'll find over 40 flavor varieties to choose from. Whether you prefer tobacco, candy, fruity, menthol, or dessert, there's a flavor for everyone.

Vapor HQ uses water-soluble flavorings without any essential oils or diethylene glycol. They also do not use the controversial ingredient diacetyl in any of their juices or flavor blends.

Vapor HQ Custom Nicotine Levels

Though e-cigs do not have to include nicotine, many vape fans choose to include some level of nicotine in their blends as a cigarette replacement. Nicotine concentration will vary depending on the needs of the user.
  • Extra-high strength juice has anywhere from 24 to 36 milligrams per milliliter of nicotine concentration. This strength is suitable for those who smoked unfiltered cigarettes or were heavy smokers.
  • High-strength juice mimics regular tobacco at around 16-18 mg/ml nicotine levels. This is suitable for the heavy smoker, or as a step down from extra high strength.
  • For the average smoker, medium-strength nicotine is usually the place to start. These juices contain 10-14 mg/ml of nicotine and are equivalent to a light cigarette. Most people new to vaping will try medium-strength liquid first.
  • Low-strength liquids contain 6-19 mg/ml of nicotine. Equivalent to an ultra light cigarette, this is a great strength for someone cutting back on nicotine or who vapes very frequently.
E-cig liquid is also available at even lower or even no nicotine levels, which can be a perfect companion for someone trying to taper off of nicotine use but still enjoy the experience of vaping.

It's important to stay within safe ranges of nicotine consumption.

Especially for those who vape constantly, staying within a lower nicotine range can help avoid toxic nicotine levels. It's harder to keep track of nicotine consumption with an easy-to-use device like an e-cig, as opposed to a cigarette.

If you vape only occasionally, you might find you prefer higher level nicotine juices. If you're unsure where to start, try a medium-strength juice first before moving up or down depending on preference.

You can rest assured that Vapor HQ uses pharmaceutical-grade, pure nicotine for every liquid they produce. You'll never get a smoke-like taste from an e-cigarette, as the ingredients are not combusted.
